Cavaliers do require routine brushings and it should be introduced at a young age. They are a double coated breed so shaving is not ideal due to their coat being a protection against hot and cold temperatures. Their ears are long and curly which tends to get matted if not brushed regularly. Also having long ears means maintaining regular cleaning, to avoid infections, is a must, but not difficult. Also, their oral health can influence their long term health so regular brushing is crucial and starting young is very beneficial.
